On the 20th April this morning i received an sms displayed "Petronas Malaysia Anouncement. Congratulation! You won RM14000 from sim card lucky draw.Please contact us at:0062818978747 Thank You."
I said, "WOW!" The news made me excited and I really woke up after that from my bed. So I give it a try calling back the number above.
So someone pick up the call, but there’s no one greeting or say "hello". So I start the conversation by greeting the person who pick up the call. Surprisingly, he said hello back to me in a man’s voice.
So i began asking him a question " Is this Petronas Malaysia Lucky Draw Center". So he start answering me yes and began to speak fast because he speaks fast without any pause.
From the beginning I started using my deep voice which I don’t normally do, just to make myself sound old man.
In the conversation, he asked me of my mobile number, and explain to me that I won’t RM14000 and it is from the Petronas Malaysia which located in KLCC and BLA BLA BLA…. (he speaks very fast).
Then, he began asking for my bank account number and ask the amount of money I have in my account. So i tell me him my account number, and ask me whether I have at least RM1000. I hesitate to tell him the amount I got is less than RM1000. But I thought it will be interesting to tell him I got more than RM1000, I already knew this is a fraud when he ask this information (It is private and confidential information), so I told him.
After that, he began to ask me do I have ATM card. So I say yes, just to continue the game. Later after that, he ask whether I can go to the ATM within One hour because they need RM1000 to be bank in first before they could send me the winning money RM14000.
So I ran to the ATM and began to bank the money to him. Narh… I’m just kidding.
Actually, I agree to him that I will be there in 30 minutes time and I began to sleep back in my bed. (=
he called me after 30 minutes, and ask me where am I while I answer him that I’m still at home. He began to tell me this winning money soon will go to other winner if I delay this matter more than one hour.
I decide to tell him the truth that I think it is a fraud and i tell him that i need to make a security clearance by checking with the police on the Petronas Malaysia lucky draw contest.
The guy on the phone confident telling me that I can do police report and they will shift the winning prize on other sim card holder which could get lucky money RM14000.
So i say to him "Is okay, you could give it to other people to win. If i made the security clearance before the time is over, I will call you immediately"
Then, I realized the call was disconnected while i still talking on the phone.
I think he got scared after that or just keep on trying.
So friends, be careful with fraud cases. Do your research before you go in into any investment whether it is fraud or legal investment. I’m glad I am not too easy to be fooled for this matter.
So i check internet to search on such cases. I found few articles in the internet which written in Malay language explaining the fraud cases which happen many other people.
